What we do
GEVI is an Italian startup developing intelligent wind turbines, using flexible hardware and an A.I. software self-specializing in multiple places and wind conditions. GEVI is promoting a new paradigm of distributed energy generation systems, as a ready solution to the biggest problem of renewable resources: discontinuity. Our long-term goal is to accelerate the ecological transition by quickly replacing fossil fuels with renewable resources.
GEVI has received, in June 2022, a Pre-seed investment with ZERO, the Italian Cleantech Accelerator by CDP in partnership with Eni, Vodafone, LVenture, elis, acea, Microsoft, and Maire Tecnimont. In february 2022 GEVI has won the first prize at the Human Knowledge Lab by Eni Joule and is partecipating PoliHub acceleration program at Politecnico di Milano.
GEVI's turbine have an active pitch control system, to adapt itself and extract all the available power with light winds, while maximizing structural life with strong winds.
Our goal is to provide high energy density wind turbines, specialized for telecom towers and high rooftops, to ease both installation and reduce maintenance costs, while producing twice more energy per year compared with a fixed blade vertical wind turbine.
Inception of the idea
Three aerospace engineers from the University of Pisa join forces to build a carbon fibre water rocket, as part of the Airbus Sloshing Rocket Workshop. Their shared passion for renewable energy and Emanuele's works in new anemometer design result in a brilliant idea!
After extensive research and detailed design, the team succeeded in building the first prototype of a 30W intelligent vertical wind turbine.
